Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best vacation rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Surf/Break, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
