Emerald Isle rental property booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sound of the Sea West 115 - Almost Oceanfront 2 BR 2 BA Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
