Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the right Morehead City vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Single level, Interior home with Private Pool and Golf Cart in Spinnaker's Reach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
