How to book the best rental home experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Renovated home with pool & easy beach access - dog-friendly has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
