Morehead City vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Clean, affordable, and a short walk to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
