- Private vacation home
2023 season now open!! Savor gorgeous ocean vistas. Elegance and luxury in a beach home with expansive seascape vistas. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home.
This oceanfront bungalow is completely private. It has been floor-to-ceiling refreshed with an modren modern coastal vibe that was designed by Susie to keep all different styles of visitors in mind.
Clean lines and bespoke furnishings let the striking 180-degree ocean vistas do all the talking. Two sets of sliding double doors open up to a huge sunbathing deck with plenty of furnishings to appreciate the ocean breeze (and tan without the sand), while sipping your favorite drink.
Outdoor dining for two is also recommended if you like romance, as you have an unobstructed view of over 2 miles of coastline (great for taking vacation pics).
For your convenience, we boast the shortest walk to the sand you can buy on the island if you feel like walking down to the beach to check on your family. But where Susie's Hideaway West really shines is when you wake up from a vacation siesta to the unbeatable vistas of the sand and ocean from our bespoke-made napping couch.
Linens and towels are supplied. Also we are only 5 mins. on a walking path from a wine store, grocery stores, and eateries.
Susie's Hideaway West features all new kitchen with granite countertops, new appliances, new floor, new linens, ceiling fans, dishwasher, washer/dryer, 4 flat screen TVs, and wireless high-speed Internet access.
Susie's Hideaway is a duplex (with two sides, East and West). This listing is for the West side. It is completely private -- there are no common or shared areas. You will be able to savor the beach in complete privacy. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home, accepting complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches!
Linens and towels are supplied.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your family select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Luxury House with Stunning Views has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
