Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 5 minute walk to ocean has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
