Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to book a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and choosing a perfectvacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Moonlight Studio 218 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
