Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Unique 2 Bedroom Condo
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
