Booking the best rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. Reserve your Morehead City vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking a perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
