Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Check out this Gem at The Point! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
