Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
