Getting the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Charming beach condo with seasonal pool & washer\/dryer - steps from the ocean has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
