How to find the best Morehead City rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • To find the best value, change your family's Morehead City vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental in the Morehead City area:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Best of both worlds - Enjoy the Ocean and Bogue Sound! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
