Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose and book the best Morehead City rental:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Stunning Ocean Front Views-Pet Friendly-Clean, Sound System indoors and out! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
