Rental property booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your family's Morehead City vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful 1 Bedroom Suite at the Beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
