Tricks and tips for getting the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beaufort Kite House - Front Street 7 Bedroom Home has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
