Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. To find the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Almond House, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
