Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose the best rental:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2 The Max, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
