Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 1 bedroom condo at Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
