Vacation rental tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. The Pinnacle - OCEANFRONT Home. Amazing Views, Pool, Hot Tub, 2 Kitchens, Deck has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
