Morehead City rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Seaside Serenity - Sleep 10 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
