Tricks and tips to get the best Morehead City rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Sea Glass- Walking Distance to Front Street and it's Pet Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
