Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Beaufort vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Resort style living in small town Beaufort NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
