Tricks and tips for getting the best rental experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking the perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Pelican's Roost 2, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
