Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the right Morehead City rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, private pool, beach boardwalk, views galore!Located in Spinnakers Reach has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
