How to find the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in New Bern:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 1 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
