New Bern rental property booking tips:

Finding your best deal:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 1 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
