Getting the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to reserve a Morehead City rental home:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
