Strategies for getting the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. HOT DEAL! REDUCED RATE ON THIS NEWLY UPDATED CONDO! NEW PICS COMING SOON! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
