Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City rental home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family select dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you crave, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
