Booking the best Beaufort rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Heart of Historic Beaufort - 129 Craven Street\n300 feet from Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
