Strategies for getting the best Morehead City rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. Book your Morehead City vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Great Get away, 3rd Floor, Ocean View Beach Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
