SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD: Guest suite is located in the of a safe, private, neighborhood.

PRIVATE CUL-DE-SAC LOT: Suite is on first floor of a single-family home located on a wooded, cul-de-sac lot which limits the view to neighboring homes. The home is adjacent to a park, so it is not uncommon see a variety of birds, deer, and other wildlife.

WALK OR BIKE TO EVERYWHERE: Emerald Isle has broad walking and bicycle paths, so you can get just about anywhere on the island without a car if you appreciate traveling on foot or bicycle.

HALF-MILE FROM BEACH: Located 1/2 mile from the beach (3 min. bicycle ride, 7 min. power walk, 15 mins. for turtles).

HALF-MILE FROM PARK: There is a nature park within a half-mile walk of our home. They have walking paths to the sound, a kayak launch, modest pier for fishing, frisbee golf, bathroom facilities when available.

RESTAURANTS / SHOPS: There are also numerous eateries and stores within a 1/2 mile and many more within a mile. You can use the bicycles to ride to the local beach and to many other places on the island. There is a beach, a park, eateries and stores within about a half-mile of our home. Nearly everything on the island is within 3 miles of our home. We have two beach cruiser bicycles which you may use at your own risk with a signed waiver (be especially careful during the busy summer). There is car parking available for the public beaches (sometimes there is a parking fee on weekends during the summer). Uber is also available on the island.

Emerald Isle is home to this apartment. Emerald Forest Golf and Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Salty Pirate Water Park and Emerald Isle Adventures. The Sweet Spot and MacDaddy's Entertainment Center are also worth visiting.

• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
• Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
• Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your group.
• If there's a specific Morehead City destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
• Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

• Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
• Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
• Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
• Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
