Tips for getting the perfect Morehead City rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly condo with central AC, washer\/dryer, marina, 6 pools, & tennis has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
