Tricks and tips for getting the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group commit to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. \"Sea's the Day\" with Exceptional Views! In the heart of town... has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
