Tricks and tips to get the very best Morehead City vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your Morehead City rental home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beach Villa with Tropical Pool has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
