Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"SweetWater\" ~ 1302 Queens Court ~ 1Bd/1Ba Top Floor Oceanfront Condo ~ Elevator has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
