Featuring a wealth of special programs throughout the year, “The Webb” is the place to go for a little education and a lot of fun in the heart of Morehead City.

The Webb Memorial Library and Civic Center was first constructed in 1929, and after serving as a commercial structure in the downtown area, was transformed into a popular local library in the early 21st century. Today, The Webb has more than 13,500 books as well as eight public use computers, and is a popular spot for budget-friendly and engaging gatherings and events. The Webb hosts a far-reaching range of programs for both visitors and locals, including special story hours or kids’ activities, adult book reads and / or clubs, and other meetings, crafts, and events that are wide open to the public. With lots of ways for visitors of all ages to enjoy a little time indoors, The Webb is more than meets the eye, and is a unique destination that will enchant book lovers and everyday explorers alike.
