Beaufort is a striking little historic NC town founded in 1709 which makes it the 3rd oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. The historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while appreciating vistas of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks. Water ferries transport visitors to close by Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. There are historic and ghost tours available daily that provide a rich history of the area, and one of Blackbeard’s legendary homes is just around the corner from our vacation home! Tour the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and walk or bicycle the tree lined streets of the historic neighborhoods. There are astounding eateries by the waterfront to appreciate including annual events like the Food and Wine Weekend with winemakers and top chefs from around the world and the music festival. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure that you will find Beaufort as delightfully different as we do – and it's only 3 hours from Raleigh!

The home sleeps 12 and was constructed only a few years ago so has the amenities of a new home. We include bicycles, a canoe, and other extras with the rental.

Morehead City vacation rental home tips:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Unique, Great for Families, Walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
