Booking the best rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Morehead City attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sweet Caroline coastal home Beaufort, NC 28516 in Beau Coast Comm master on main has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City beach you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
