Getting the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, try changing your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in the Morehead City area:

  • Start by having your family choose date ranges and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Redone Luxury Waterfront at The Point w\/ Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Game Rm has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
