How to find the best rental home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Book your Morehead City vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking your prefect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Recently Redone Luxury Waterfront at The Point w/ Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Fire Pit has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
