Tips to get the optimal Morehead City rental home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book your Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Renovated (2022) Ocean front Condo in Emerald Isle, North Carolina has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
