How to find the best New Bern rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer is high season in New Bern. Book your Morehead City rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Historic Downtown New Bern Condo -2 Bedrooms has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
