Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated Historic House. 2 bed 2 marble bath. Amazing local. Bikes incl. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
