Beaufort rental booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated Historic House. 1 bed 1 marble bath with tub. Walking distance. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
