Tips to get the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Downtown 3BR walk everywhere to downtown shops and restaurants. 2 blocks away has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
