Rental booking tips:

When to book a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • Book your Morehead City vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Experience living in a County Farm House has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
