Step aboard with Champs Coastal Charters and let’s go explore the Neuse River the right way, light tackle, laid-back vibe, and plenty of chances to bend a rod.

On this 4–5 hour inshore trip, we’ll target Speckled Trout, Red Drum (Redfish), Flounder, and Striped Bass, depending on season and conditions. Some days we’re working creek mouths and current seams, other days it’s shell, drop-offs, or wind-blown banks the plan is always the same: keep you around fish and having fun.

Most of the fishing is done with light tackle, which makes every bite more exciting and is perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers. If you want to learn, I’m happy to walk you through what we’re doing and why. If you’d rather just cast, chill, and enjoy the ride, that works too.

Trips are family-friendly, and kids are welcome. Safety comes first life jackets are provided, and we’ll go over basic boat and fishing safety before we leave the dock.

You’ll be fishing from a comfortable bay boat set up for inshore work, with plenty of deck space for 3–4 anglers. The boat is rigged with the gear and electronics needed for a productive day, and all rods, reels, tackle, and bait are included.
