Chowdaheads is a kid-friendly and beach lover-approved seafood shack that might not be fancy, but will nevertheless impress Emerald Isle visitors with a hearty menu that doesn’t skimp on the seafood or the flavor.
As the name would suggest, the big draw for visitors is the chowder, which can come in a small portion, larger portion, in a bread bowl, or by the quart to enjoy back home. But patrons won’t want to fill up on chowder alone, as the rest of the menu hosts an impressive collection of “teasers” or appetizers, seafood baskets, salads, sandwiches, Paninis and wraps, (as well as a Little Necks menu that’s just for kids.) Hungry seafood fans will want to dive into the big fish fry basket or a combination plate for a solid sampling of coastal fare, while land fans will appreciate the big burger, hot dog, and deli style sandwiches and wraps. For something different, try the Digger’s Delite snow crab leg salad on a baguette, or the homemade crab cake on a Kaiser roll. Fresh ingredients are used whenever possible, ensuring that diners will have an opportunity to taste the authentic Crystal Coast flavor.
Casually enticing, Chowdaheads is an easy-going destination for families, beach bums, and especially seafood lovers who want a no-frills introduction to good crystal Coast cooking.
