Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking a perfect Morehead City vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Super clean and walking distance to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
