Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Reserve your Morehead City rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick your Morehead City rental home:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Front, King Bed(s), Upgraded Kitchen has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
