Vacation rental tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking your prefect Morehead City rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sound Of The Sea East 129, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
